A Course Reserve is a book, movie, article, or other type of material that is set aside in the library for the specific use by that course's students.

To search online to see if your instructor has placed any items on reserve in the library:

  • Conduct a search in the library
  • Under Refine Results on the left, click on Location
  • If the item is on reserve, it will say either Semester-Long Reserve, 1st floor Circulation or 3 Hour Reserve, 1st floor Circulation
  • Click on the Location information to see the record and call number information.
  • Most items are designated for library use only and cannot be checked out of the library building. Students will also need their Student ID/Library card in order to access any Course Reserve items.

Go to the Circulation Desk and ask for the Reserve item by Call Number and Title (for example, Mean Streets, 977.311 D537m)

If you have any questions about Course Reserves, please contact the Reference Librarians (847-214-7354) or the Circulation Desk (847-214-7337.)
